The house is a tribute to the land from which it materialises, with stone volumes that stand in contrast to large glass surfaces, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding nature, bringing the outside inside and creating a unique experience in continuity with the landscape.
In the municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena, the area of “Terra Mala” (bad land), known for the presence of hard stones that prevent any kind of cultivation, hosts the villa on a single level, which blends well with the surrounding environment. This area of land, despite its apparent inhospitability, enchants visitors with a breathtaking view that embraces the sea and the entire Gulf of Cagliari.
Set atop a hill, the villa complex is integrated into the location and stands out for its harmonious fusion with the surrounding environment, its contemporary architectural language, which still celebrates the natural landscape that hosts it.
Each home has been designed as a tribute to its own roots, with stone walls that recall the historical vernacular buildings of Sardinia, alternated with other volumes simply painted, ensuring a visual impact of total harmony with the surroundings. The large solid blocks not only confer a rustic elegance but also testify to a refined authenticity and attachment to the land. In contrast, the large glass surfaces allow for complete immersion in the surrounding nature, bringing the outside inside the home and creating a unique experience in continuity with the landscape.
Each of these villas offers an oasis of freshness and relaxation thanks to the water feature and the play of shadows created by the overhanging canopy. The surfaces and flooring, which replicate the effect of Orosei marble both inside and outside the homes, help create a welcoming atmosphere in harmony with nature, inviting guests to fully enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the surroundings.
The interiors differ in size but share the core concept of the project: providing an experience in continuity with what happens outside. The living area in all the homes is surrounded by a series of glass walls that allow the landscape to become an integral part of the home, creating an extremely convivial space that looks out over the local nature.
There are two types of homes: two 75sqm villas and one 150sqm villa. The 75sqm villas, in addition to a discreet living area, each have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The 150sqm villa features a much larger living area, with an integrated but separate kitchen for better space management. The sleeping area consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. In addition to the large outdoor space on the ground floor, the house has a beautiful terrace, accessible via an external staircase, allowing for an exceptional sea view, which is the true highlight of the location.
The canopies, which are considered an extension of the built structure, offer pleasant shading, embodying one of the typical elements of Mediterranean construction.
