The possibility of living on a panoramic terrace in the center of Cagliari is given by access through a volume that houses the staircase connecting to the underlying apartment. Another volume, a technical room that constitutes the building’s elevator shaft, is already present on the terrace. The two building bodies are redesigned as parallelepipeds composed of mirrored parts that establish a connection between them and a dialogue with the surrounding urban environment, reflecting its building characteristics. The architecture of these two new presences thus tends to dematerialize to not burden the urban fabric but rather lighten it and enrich it with luminous reflections.

The materials are simple and create a minimal environment where it is possible to play with colorful furniture and different plant species without risking overloading its visual character. The frames of the structures are made of dark metal that frames the glass surfaces; the grid from which they develop is marked by the joints of the floating floor slabs, allowing a flat surface without slope cuts. The position at the corners of the two volumes allows for dividing the outdoor space into two functions, with the more hidden one accommodating the barbecue and table area and the more open one serving as a relaxation area with sofas and designer seating.
